Desha County District Court has jurisdiction over the following matters: small and civil claims in matters less than $5,000.00, criminal misdemeanors, traffic tickets and city
ordinance violations.

Gibbs Ferguson is the District Judge. He is an elected official with a four year term of office. Leslie Hornaday is the Court Clerk and is appointed by the Mayor.
Elizabeth Collins is the Deputy Court Clerk.

Small & Civil claims court is every three months starting in January. Criminal and traffic court is held the fourth Tuesday of each month with the exception of no court in December.
It is held in the courtroom of the Police Department at 2412 Highway 65 N.
