McGehee City Council Minutes

March 7, 2000

 

The McGehee City Council met in regular session on March 7, 2000 at 5:30 P.M.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Poole, Aldermen: Mike Rogers, Al Murphy, F.H. Gill, Mrs. Jimmie Perkins, City Attorney Drake, Police Chief Farrell, Fire Chief Allen and City Inspector Gober.

MINUTES: After the reading of the February minutes, a motion was made by Alderman Rogers, seconded by Alderman Perkins to approve the minutes as read. Motion carried.

TREASURY REPORTS: After a brief review of the reports, Alderman Murphy made the motion to accept as presented, seconded by Alderman Gill. Motion carried.

BILLS: Alderman Gill made the motion to pay all bills, seconded by Alderman Perkins. Motion carried.

RESOLUTION 345: A RESOLUTION FIXING A DATE FOR A HEARING ON A PETITION TO RENAME A PORTION OF HICKORY STREET.

Alderman Gill made the motion to adopt Resolution 345, seconded by Alderman Murphy. Motion carried.

RESOLUTION 346: A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF MCGEHEE TO UTILIZE FEDERAL-AID ENHANCEMENT MONIES. (DEPOT)

A motion was made by Alderman Gill, seconded by Alderman Perkins to adopt Resolution 346. Motion carried.

OLD and/or NEW BUSINESS: Mayor Poole introduced Mr. John Millwood, wife and daughter. Mr. Millwood will be the new ambulance director for the Paramedic Department. Mrs. Millwood will become the new deputy Municipal Clerk.

POLICE REPORTS: There were no questions.

WATER COMPANY REPORTS: No questions.

Mr. George Reed was present to present some complaints and expressed his appreciation to the council for hearing his concerns.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
